You look different from afar
YOU LOOK DIFFERENT FROM AFAR
An exploration of perspective and perception, examining how distance changes our understanding of subjects both literal and metaphorical.
This photographic series investigates the curious phenomenon of how physical and emotional distance transforms our perception of people, places, and ideas. The work plays with viewpoints, focal lengths, and spatial relationships to create visual metaphors for the way we experience the world differently when we stand at varying distances.
Each image invites the viewer to consider how proximity alters reality - how the details that become visible up close can completely change the narrative suggested by a distant view. The series challenges us to consider which perspective holds more truth, if either, and what is gained or lost when we change our vantage point.
Through careful composition and thoughtful subject selection, the work creates a dialogue between the familiar and the strange, revealing how the same subject can appear as both, depending on where we stand in relation to it.
